FAQ for the electric car rental
1.- Who can use the car?
The cars are rented only to drivers in the age group 21 to 65 years. The driver must be the owner of a valid driving license B- class for at least two years. The use for persons on the "Accompanied driving from 17" is generally not allowed. The vehicle may only be driven by the drivers specified in the rental agreement. If the vehicle is driven by persons other than the aforementioned, the fee specified in the rental agreement will be charged for each additional driver.
2.- What do I need to rent the vehicle?
The renter must present an identity card or passport and a driver's license, valid in the country, required to drive the vehicle. These will be copied and placed with the documents. A deposit is also required. When picking up the vehicle, it is mandatory to present the original driver's license of any additional drivers.
3.- How much is the deposit?
The deposit is 500,-€. This is provided after conclusion of the rental contract in the form of a SEPA direct debit mandate. Furthermore, a copy of the identity card and the driver's license is required.
Provided that the car is returned in a perfect and clean condition, the renter of the car will receive his deposit back in full.
4.- Where do I have to pick up and return the car?
After signing the rental contract, the renter will receive the car key of the VW E-Golf and a briefing from an employee of the Tourist Information. The car and the key must be picked up and returned personally at the Ostseecampingplatz Fam. Heide.
5.- How does the reservation work?
By phone via the Tourist Information phone number: 01525 - 72 96 486 every day during opening hours from 9:15-13:30 and 14:30 - 18:00 or with a simple e-mail to email@example.com the renter reserves the electric car. In addition to the reservation date, the first and last name, date of birth, full residential address and telephone number must be provided.
6.- Is there a limit to the rental period?
No. The prices per day/week can be found in the price list. Depending on availability, you can extend the rental period, for which there is a processing fee for 15.00€.
7.- What happens if I exceed the intended rental period?
If the tenant exceeds the intended rental period, the landlord reserves the right to retain part of the deposit or to claim the additional rental costs incurred directly on site. The grace period granted is 15 minutes.
If the electric car is not returned on time due to a traffic jam, breakdown, accident or other unforeseeable reasons, the tourist information office must be informed immediately. If the vehicle is returned late without notice, any costs incurred will be passed on to the renter by invoice.
8.- Can I cancel/change my reservation?
Up to one hour before the pick-up time stated in the current reservation, a change of booking is possible for a rebooking fee of 15€.
A refund of any advance rental payment already made/refund of any difference will not be made if the booking is changed. The customer may cancel a booking before the pick-up time shown in the current reservation. Cancellation is free of charge up to 24 hours prior to rental. From 24 hours before rental 80% cancellation fee of the first day rental will be charged.
9.- Where can I charge the car at the campsite Fam. Heide?
Via the charging station (possible for a fee) this is located in the large parking lot in front of the tourist information.
Charging is generally not allowed on the campsite.

10.- What happens if the car breaks down due to insufficient battery charge? The tenant is responsible for regularly checking the charge level of the electric car during use and is responsible for all direct/indirect costs incurred.
11 - What should I do in case of an accident?
In the event of an accident, the renter is required to adequately secure the scene of the accident, take care of injured persons if necessary and call the police and possibly the rescue service to the scene of the accident.
Afterwards the renter is obliged to inform the employees of the tourist information about the accident. At the scene of the accident, the name(s) of the driver(s) of the vehicle and the license plate number(s) of the other party are also required. In addition, the renter should obtain the police file number from the police officers who appear at the scene. The renter must then consult with the officers present to determine whether the vehicle may continue to participate in road traffic or whether it must be recovered by a towing service. Note: Under no circumstances should the renter have an admission of guilt attached. This could result in loss of insurance.
12.- What do I do if I find things from the previous tenant?
If the tenant finds lost property in the electric car, please hand it in at the tourist information. The Tourist Information staff will then try to contact the previous tenant.
13.- Can I smoke in the car?
Smoking is strictly prohibited in the car. If the tenant smokes in the car, the landlord is entitled to charge the tenant 100,-€ for non-compliance.
14 - How should the car look like when I return it?
The vehicle must be returned in a clean and tidy condition at the end of the rental period to the Ostseecampingplatz Fam. Heide.
15.- Where can I find the nearest charging stations in the area? A list of the nearest charging stations in the area is available at the tourist information office.
16.- What types of plugs are in the car case?
1) Charging cable for charging stations with alternating current (AC).
The maximum charging current is 16 amps or 32 amps.
The alternating current is converted into direct current outside the vehicle.
A significantly higher charging power is achieved compared to AC charging.
2) Charging cable for mains sockets.
The charging cable limits the charging current according to the available power supply. Depending on specific mains sockets, the maximum charging current can be 6 A, 8 A or 10 A.
